Simple RSS Feed creation tool
« on: October 13, 2010, 11:33:13 PM »
Steve, I seem to recall that you were the one that mentioned hostmyrss.com in one of your videos. I've been using it ever since because it makes it easy to create feeds from a bunch of articles on different sites. However, it hasn't been working for about the last 2 weeks, and technical support doesn't know when it will be fixed. I'm wondering if you know of any other sites or tools that do the same thing? I know there are plenty of RSS tools, but they seem to only work for creating a feed for pages on 1 site, not pages on a bunch of different sites. Or if they do, you have to create all the descriptions. Hostmyrss.com spiders the pages and grabs all the information, so it saves a lot of time. I can't seem to find anything similar anywhere.

Hi Linda

First things first, have you downloaded or tried our new Desktop Submitter that is free and odesn't need to use RSS Feeds? If you haven't then try it (it is free after all) and at the moment is set to submit to 362 Directories (more on the way) and actually might be the answer to a lot of your questions and concerns about RSS.

Other than that I would take a look at html2rss which is a Pete drew application and is also free. The hidden danger with this is that he does have a habit of including an extra link in all feeds that links back to one of his sites. Per se this is not necessarily a problem if he would just be up front about it and not be quite so devious and not tell anyone.

Try the SL Submitter first, most folks think it rocks big time....seriously.

Steve

Wow, Steve, thanks! Your new submitter solves my problem and is much better than an RSS creator. This makes it possible to skip that step. I just watched your videos, downloaded it, and installed it without any problems at all. It is now submitting my first URL. Thank you for continuing to provide great tools and information! You're the best!

Steve, the submitter ran just fine until it got to #58, webhelp.quest.net. Then it just stopped and wouldn't continue. I shut it down and tried again, but the same thing happened. Is there a way to make it skip that site and continue?

Hmnn strange that as that is not one of our sites?? ???

Let me run a sample test over here for you in the meantime lets move this question to the following area as I am trying to keep all technical quesries about the SL Submitter at this stage together so there is a certain amount of "knowledge share" http://simpleleveraging.com/slschat/index.php/topic,87.0.html

Back to you soon on this when I see how our submission of one of our accounts on your username works.

Steve
