SLS, Press, RSS & Ping
« on: November 11, 2011, 09:39:36 AM »
Hi Guys,

Here is the link for the SLS, Press RSS & Ping Video : http://youtu.be/zYs6X1KcjfE

Basically what this video explains is that with this twist we take the basic Press Release and add some Promotion to that PR fairly quickly so that when it first emerges into Google it either rises fairly quickly or if it comes in high we can arrest it's potential decline and gain additional exposure for out target phrase.

Remember by and large Press Releases enter the SERPS high and then decline as they gain an initial boost from the domain trust rank that they have been published under (i.e usually PR 5 or above) as their initial link is usually found on the Media sites Homepage (Ezine Articles principle etc) and then they slide down the ranks as later releases emerge and they slip off the home page of the Media site they came from.

It is at this point that our secondary promotion and link building comes into play as any loss of power from no longer getting the juice internally is offset by the additional grunt the page now gets from the quick infusion of back link power.

Have fun and any questions then don't be afraid to ask?

Steve

Once you submit to pipes and reader, are you then bookmarking the actual RSS feed url on simple leveraging? Are you then subsequently bookmarking every url in your clipping report?

One thing I also noticed, I have a tough time getting google to index some of the the links in my clipping report. Some of them fall off the first page before I get the report, others I just cant get indexed even using backlink energizer, specifically the tv news sites. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

OK here's how we work.

First up, prior to receiving the Clippings report we set up a query in Google searching for the Title of our PR within quotation marks so for example for a PR entitled "Cheap Flat Screen TV's from Target" then that is what is our query operand is and we can usually pick up the first PR's to emerge and then we bookmark those virtually straight away.

We don't bookmark every url in the clipping report, we take a look at the Clipping report and run the report through Scrapebox and ascertain the Home Page Rank of the sites and we target the top10-15.

Google won't openly in public recognize all of the PR's because......that's the way Google works but....and this is important, because Google doesn't show anything openly doesn't mean to say that it hasn't recognized it internally. On many instances we've traced PR's to find Google reporting some in certain queries that it doesn't show in others. The downside of this type of PR and it isn't really a downside as such is that as all the copy in the PR's is identical (or as near as dammit) then Google will only publicly rank, index or display certain of the PR's anyway due to dupe content issues.

The days are long gone when you could get identical copy on 20-30 sites and just hog pages 1-3. Our technique as the cost of the distribution of the PR's is so minimal is to just release loads of them with different copy and slightly different Titles and claim territory that way. The key PR's to look for as far as SERPS and immediacy are concerned are the "EmailWire" ones, Groupweb and a few others. The moment we spot those and they will be quick as they are the first of the sites to publish then we get on the case.

hope this helps.

If anyone needs further clarification on this, don't hesitate to ask.

I tried this on a test release yesterday and it debuted on page 3 out of 29m results. Hit it with SLS and it moved to page 2 pos. #7 @ 8 hrs later. Ran the pipes, google reader and bookmarked those on SLS. No further movement yet although emailwire is down right now.

I'll give it another 24 hours and if it doesn't get to page 1 I may hit it with some pliggs. (@ 1800 of them to be exact! ;p)

I am going to also bookmark the high domain rank distributions in my clipping report.

Updates to come.
